Romanian deadlift, RDL is different from traditional deadlift. RDL focuses on hips and hamstrings, improves ones flexibility, and develops stability, activity and coordination of hips.
However, single leg RDL is harder than RDL. You have to maintain the natural curve in your lower back and keep the core generated when performing RDL. Also, mechanical tension is focused on the hips.
The different types of deadlifts chosen by the athlete depends on the type of sports they play and training period.
Take me for example. I’ve been a basketball player for at least 13 years. With the benefits from single leg RDL, I can build body balance along with stability of landing and jump higher.
